Summary: With design support from The Designery, YouthBuild Boston's afterschool architecture workshop, volunteers created a fun new fence design for the Cooper Community Center's playground. The weave functions as a decoration as well as a privacy barrier for children on the playground.

Summary: More than 170 volunteers installed 16 new windows in two homes, and insulated more than 600 drafty windows in 78 homes of elderly and disabled, low-income Bostonians.

UBuild Partners: Bank of America, CBRE, NELSON, StructureTone
Summary: In a true collaborative effort, Bank of America, CB Richard Ellis, NELSON Strategies, and StructureTone joined forces to create a new, grassy play area for the daycare center at Children's Services of Roxbury. These volunteers braved soggy, rainy conditions to complete a portion of the project, and returned later to finish the job.

Summary: More than 150 volunteers teamed up to help weatherize more than 700 windows in 51 Boston homes and replace 13 windows for one Boston resident, all at no cost to the recipients.

Summary: The Boston Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter and one of BPB's preferred charities, was in need of some improvements in their living quarters. YBB helped BPB install cabinets, new lighting, and decorative painted accents to brighten up the place.

Summary: YBB worked with BlueCross/BlueShield of Mass. to benefit one of BCBS' preferred charities. Together, volunteers and YBB trainees made various improvements to the grounds of the Codman Square Health Center.
